A few words from SAI’s President, Rory Shannon

When Shannon Associates (now SAI, Inc.) opened our doors for business back in 1956, Florida’s population was around 4 million and fire alarm systems were a relatively new industry. Well, we have been to the moon and back! Asked by NASA in the early 1960’s to create a reliable smoke detector for the soon to be built vertical assembly building, founder, Ralph Shannon, worked with electrical engineers to provide a detector that ensured the U.S.A. would walk on the moon before the end of the decade.

Fast forward 70 years later and Florida, now a state with almost 22 million citizens continues to bring S.A.I. new challenges.
